Tailor-made app

edovino app

This tailor-made app aims to create a personalized wine based on user responses to wine tastings. The dosages to create the personalized wine will be added according to the affinity that the user has with the wine tasted.

Edovino's story

During a professional experience in a cellar in Mercurey, Alex Bluma was able to observe that many customers had little or no knowledge of wine, which turned out to be a hindrance. Faced with this observation, he decided to adapt the second half of the customer tastings according to their feedback on the first 3 wines they had tasted. Which turned out to be most of the time, a success. The idea therefore came to him to use existing technologies to measure customer tastes.

As a marketer, he is used to monitoring new trends, including personalization. As a marketer, he is used to monitoring new trends, including personalization. Like a brand like Subway, which allows customers to customize their sandwich to their liking even at the risk of trying unconventional mixes.

This is how he decided to embark on the personalized wine.

In what context did Edovino request EtOH?

  • Creation of an algorithm
  • Creating an app

The EtOH Digital work methodology

  1. Workshop: the strategy, the resources, the human means, the ROI sought and the continuation of the project.
  2. Strategic recommendations and commercial proposal: terms, graphic environment, technological choices.
  3. Getting started in the form of a sprint: identification of needs, modeling, customer validation, development and deployment, testing and validation by Edovino. A total of 3 sprints completed.
  4. Deployment and handling by Edovino with training to then be able to be autonomous.

The Edovino project

In order to meet its goal of personalized wine, we designed an algorithm to measure taste and create a tailor-made wine blend.

The development of a tailor-made app allowing this use of the algorithm in a complete tasting user experience coupled with a back-office allowing to obtain the results of the experience and the blend to be created. On this application, the customer fills out a questionnaire on the wines tasted, which feeds the algorithm and offers a tailor-made wine according to taste.

Mockup Edovino

The project behaves as follows:

  • An application: to answer questions
  • A back office: which collects user responses and sends them to Edovino's Zoho CRM with their information (last name, first name, email address, date of birth)

Customer feedback has been positive, for them it's a very innovative and fun experience.

The first personalized cuvées

During tests at events, even the most skeptical were amazed by the result. Alexandre and Audrey are still fans of their bespoke wine.

What other projects have been carried out with EtOH?

La creation of the graphic charter and a showcase site.

How Edovino met EtOH?

The meeting between EtOH and Edovino took place during FoodTech in Dijon. Alex Bluma decided to call on us for our skills. Indeed, we brought him the skills missing from the project: digital development, expertise in oenology, the statistical aspect for sensory analysis as well as knowledge in the financing of innovation.

Like the whole sector, Edovino is impacted by the health crisis on their professional market (catering and events), so they take the opportunity to work on new offers.
Indeed, their logic of creation on demand allows them to adapt and thus reduce overproduction. They plan for the future to offer an organic and alcohol-free offer.
